Sutrin is an innovation company specializing in the development and production of unique nonwoven composites for advanced technical applications. Located in Cambridge, Ontario, our 10,000 ft² R&D and manufacturing facility is the heart of our operations—where every product is proudly designed, developed, and manufactured in Canada.
Our journey began with the creation of high-performance synthetic air filtration media, culminating in a successful technology transfer in 2019. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sutrin responded swiftly to the national call-to-action by pivoting operations to support public health efforts. We became the first Canadian company to supply masks that met the NIOSH N95 requirements to the Public Health Agency of Canada using our proprietary single-layer filter composite. These masks offered the lowest breathing resistance among available respirators, and we delivered over 2 million units within six months, designing and building all necessary production equipment in-house with the support of local suppliers.
Today, Sutrin has returned to its core mission: the development of high-performance fabrics and advanced materials. One of our flagship innovations is a fabric-based Phase Change Material (PCM)technology, designed to enhance product performance, lower costs, and make PCM integration feasible across a wide range of industries.
Our capabilities include:
- Production of Sutrin PCM Nonwoven Composites (up to 1.5 m widths)
- Graphene fiber nonwoven and PCM composites
- Roll-to-roll low-pressure plasma surface modification (up to 1.1 m widths)
- Pleating, corrugation, and guillotine cutting
- Ultrasonic bonding, heat sealing, and vacuum packaging
- Laminating, slitting, and rewinding of multilayers
- Pad printing and automated trifold mask-making (equipment available)
Sutrin also offers rapid prototyping services and maintains a full in-house testing lab to ensure all products meet strict performance standards. Our robust Quality Control system is aligned with ISO 13485, reinforcing our commitment to excellence and regulatory compliance.
